Hotel Information and Location
There are two recommended hotels to use for the conference. Both are located in good areas of the city with easy access to the public transportation system.
Club Quarters
We are working on getting a group rate at the Club Quarters:
Club Quarters Philadelphia
1628 Chestnut Street,
Philadelphia, PA 19103-5119
Phone: (215) 282-5000
Fax: (215) 282-5001
http://clubquarters.com
The hotel is located in downtown Center City of Philadelphia, near most of the major shopping areas, restaurants, and bars. It is a bit under 1.5 miles from the conference hotel. It is a bit of a walk but an easy taxi or bus ride over. Driving is not recommended through the city as finding parking for a full day is difficult and expensive. Taxis are relatively inexpensive in Philadelphia.

Sheraton Philadelphia
Another option is the Sheraton Philadelphia:
Sheraton Philadelphia
3549 Chestnut Street,
Philadelphia, PA 19104
Phone: (215) 387-8000

The Sheraton is right around the corner from Levine Hall and is easily walkable.
Getting There and Around
Getting around Philadelphia is generally quite easy between Center City and University City. Walking is a good option as September usually has nice, mild weather and the city is relatively flat. The taxis around the hotels and conference building are easy to get and are priced fairly. The bus system can also be convenient. The Philadelphia subway system is not a very good way to travel through the parts of the city where we will be located, and it is recommended that it be avoided.
By Train
Philadelphia is a major stop on the Northeast Corridor of the Amtrack train service. Trains regularly stop at Philadelphia's 30th Street Station.
By Plane
The Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is a major airport that should be easy to get to from most locations world-wide. It is located roughly 8 miles south of Philadelphia. The city can be easily reached via taxi service (standard fare of $28.50) or by the SEPTA regional rail ($7.00 plus a bit of a walk).
By regional rail, University City is the best stop for people traveling to the Sheraton or the conference directly. Suburban station is 2 blocks north of Club Quarters for those traveling to that hotel.
